Water temps 58-62 degrees. This week’s night lows will help with the fishing. It’s August and that means it’s terrestrial season. Bring your hoppers, beetles, ants, and cranes along. The fish are looking up and are eager to eat something plopped on the water. Sizes 10-14. If you’re the early bird type, tricos are here. Some streams experiencing blizzard hatches while others are only see enough to bring the fish up. Size 20-22 are what’s on the menu. On warmer systems, the ephrons are underway and it looks like snow in summer on some systems. Size 10-12. Remember if the temps climb bring along your thermometer. Anything over 65 degrees will be pretty poor fishing. Find colder water, there’s plenty of it around. Good luck!
Get out and fish.
